When a motorcycle accident happens, the motorcyclist usually suffers the most severe injuries out of all of the people involved. Motorcycle accident injuries are often very serious and it can require months, and sometimes years, for injury victims to recover from their injuries.

A 55-year-old funeral parlor director lost his leg after experiencing a serious motorcycle accident last June. The accident involved hitting a utility truck while he was driving the motorcycle to a casket convention. After 10 months of rehabilitation, he is finally going home.

After the life-threatening accident, he was airlifted to a Cincinnati hospital for stabilization and treatment. He remained there until he was stable enough to be transferred to a rehabilitation center. The man remained at the rehabilitation center for ten months after the accident that led to the amputation of his left leg. He also had a fractured back that required repair using permanent rods and pins, nerve damage to his left arm, and a collapsed lung.

The 55-year-old man will soon return home to celebrate his survival and recovery from those injuries.

The funeral parlor director will also return to his job at his funeral home. Due to the injuries received in the motorcycle accident, the funeral home was significantly modified to allow the director to move around better with only one leg.

During the ten months he was undergoing treatment, family members said the man had a positive attitude and never quit working towards the goal of recovering and coming home. They see his determination and recovery as a message for helping other people who have suffered similar accidents and injuries.
